Comment to this post, and I will list seven things I want you to talk about. They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your journal. Other people can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.

1. What is your favourite colour and why?
Uh...probably blue. Any shade of blue really, from the lightest of cyans to a gorgeous almost-black navy. Though I like greens, purples, yellows, peach, black, silvers, and white/creams. Why? No slagging clue, other than that these hues resonate with me...

2. Diamonds or Pearls?
Neither. Sapphire or Opal all the way. Though Amethyst is a favoured stone too.

3. Have there been any books that have changed some aspect of your life?
When I first discovered meditation. Reading manga. Oh! When I first read Rudyard Kipling, David Eddings and Anne McCaffrey - they were my first major introduction to fantasy and sci-fi, I must have been about 6-7 when I started reading them. "Just so Stories" is still on my list of top ten favourites. T.S.Elliot - my first introduction to proper humorous poetry. None of this Dr. Suess-style stuff. Proper poetry.

4. What is the worst food you have ever eaten?
I once had an unfortunate encounter with an improperly cooked mackerel. It has forever soured my perspective on whole fish. I also don't like foods that are spice-ridden all that much - mild curries are fine, but you won't get me within 20metres of a vindaloo.

5. Which do you value more, honesty or courage?
Honesty. If you are not honest with yourself, you cannot be honest with others. Also, by its very nature, honesty requires courage - the ability to look within and see the truth, to ignore any lies is a very difficult one. Courage is needed to both brush aside the veil, and see what we very often don't want to see. It has been said "something that has long been thought often has the appearance of  being right, even after it is proven wrong". And the most dangerous liars are those that acknowledge the truth, lie anyway and carry it off.

6. Favouite song?
Augh. -_- You had to ask this one. I don't fragging know! I know so many songs, many off-by-heart, that I can't really tell. Some are very beautiful, but situationally appropriate, some are sing-whenever-wherever, and some are just instrumentals. I suppose it shows a part of our spirit as a species - the ability to create music, to resonate with others through sound and not speech.

7. If you had the opportunity to learn another language, which would it be?
I'm a linguophile. What does that tell you? I already speak Japanese and German with some fluency; a little Spanish, French, and Latin; I'm attempting Russian and Mandarin Chinese this year. I should really look at Gaelic, Ancient Egyptian, Ancient Greek, but it will probably be Arabic and Aramaic next...
