So, in my last post I made mention of [livejournal.com profile] renegadewriter8 and their wishlist, from which I created my own.

Since I'm feeling in a better headspace this Christmas, I decided to play elf for one of their requests. As such, I've started work on a painting of a dragon. The final piece will actually be part of a triptych set. However only the first sketch is complete. It'll be going up on my Dev.art account probably tomorrow. The next two sketches should be complete after Christmas, with the paintings following shortly after. The finished paintings won't be going up until all are done, after which I'll post them to RW8.

This present has so inspired me, I'm planning to complete a couple of mini diptychs, and will be gifting them to my mum as one of her presents.
Nothing says "You're loved/liked/wanted" like a homemade gift.

I'm feeling really good right now.

In other projects, I still need to finish knitting my scarf/wrap, finish sewing my Kanzeon(Saiyuki) cosplay, and at long last start on my kimono.

[livejournal.com profile] satsuki_samurai's skirt that I'm modifying is gonna be a piece of cake - the only hard part is getting her in for a fitting.

Speaking of knitting - does anyone else find that it's a mindless, soothing task? Almost meditative?

Going back to gifts and presents I'd like - I recently remembered about the Alienware Laptops and PC's I saw in JB Hi-Fi....I WANT ONE!!!!!!!!!!
It'd be perfect for PC gaming - plenty of graphics-devoted hardware, a substantial HD and RAM for storage and active games, Augh, it's just PERFECT - and I'd finally be able to play WoW without worrying about it being too Graphics-heavy or not having enough diskspace.

Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] renegadewriter8

Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 (or however many you like) holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My wish list

1 - a PS3 (just160GB is fine)
2 - a burmese or tonkinese kitten
3 - more clients! (for my business)
4 - more japanese manga
5 - a boxset of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
6 - a follow up to chapter 8 of [livejournal.com profile] darkeyes_17's "Inspired by maroon5"
7 - a full set of the Soundtracks to the various Kingdom Hearts games
8 - a hug
9 - a plushie of some sort
10 - someone to collaborate with on this slagging-pit-of-a-fragging-scrapheap TF story that I can't get out of my head
